Nanotechnology Centre, CEET

Nanotechnology centre is one of the University centres concentrating on research and education in the field of technologies and nanomaterials. Their basic and application research is heading for many areas of life, recently focusing on environmental, energy and health problematics, where nanomaterials and nanotechnologies can help with additional values.

Members of the centre have long term partnership with key nanotechnology industry and numerous national and foreign research institutions, being involved in world class research of excellent projects. Nanotechnology centre is open for students and young scientists giving an opportunity to study in the Nanotechnology program and to work in the international environment.

Institute of Geonics of the CAS

The activity of IGN is the scientific research motivated by the versatile utilization of the earth’s crust, i.e. research on geomaterials, processes inside the earth’s crust, especially processes induced by human activity and their impact on the environment.

Faculty of Materials Science and Technology

Faculty of Materials Science and Technology is a modern educational institution integrating attractive teaching and cutting-edge research in material, metallurgical, chemical, economic and environmental study programs with the following focus: Materials preparation, processing and recycling; Materials Engineering; Automotive materials and technologies; Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies; Biomaterials and Biomechanics; Chemical and environmental technologies; Quality management; Industrial Automation; Economics and management in industry; Thermal energetics.

The Faculty carries out high-quality scientific research with an emphasis on the applicability of achieved results in practice.

In the field of education and science, the Faculty develops cooperation with Czech and foreign partners - universities, research institutes and industry. The Faculty has long-term cooperation with foreign universities in Japan, China, USA, Russia and EU countries. The faculty is one of the so-called stone university institutions, has a long and rich history. Some faculty workplaces were already part of the university when it was founded by František Josef I in 1849.
